
Research Engineer in experimental physics

Job description
You will work as a research engineer within the Quantum Materials group and assist the members of the group in developing the experimental setups that the group runs. Specifically, you will work with the design and development of mechanical components for the various experiments as well as maintenance and fault rectification.

Qualifications
Requirements
- A graduate degree or an advanced level (higher education) in the research subject or equivalent competence.
- Documented experience in mechanical design and experience with CAD.
- Substantial experience of practical technical work
Preferred qualifications
- As a person, you are service-oriented and find it easy to collaborate. You are at the same time self-motivated and goal-oriented with the ability to drive projects all the way to implementation. You have a broad interest in technology and a willingness to learn new subjects and techniques.
- We would like you to have experience of working with precision mechanics and workshop work such as the use of lathes, milling machines, NC machines, etc.
- We would also like you to have experience in one or several of the topics optics and optical design, high-power lasers, vacuum technology and cryotechnology.
- It is also a merit if you have experience of working with software control of hardware as well as working in multicultural environments and awareness of diversity and equal treatment issues with a particular focus on gender equality.
Great emphasis will be placed on personal skills.

About the employment
