Postdoc in human in the loop control for medical robotics

KTH Royal Institute of Technology, School of Engineering Sciences in Chemistry, Biotechnology and Health

Job description

Do you have a background within mechatronics, biomedical, mechanical, electrical, or computer engineering and research interests in medical robotics and human in the loop control - this could be a position for you. We are looking for an ambitious, collaborative, and structured person to join our team.

You will lead research efforts in human-in-the-loop control for medical robotics in the context of cardiovascular technologies. The goal is to innovate control systems for optimized interaction of soft cardiovascular pumps and wearable biofeedback systems with the human body. You will have the opportunity to critically assess the safety of the proposed control system for real-world application utilizing a hybrid mock circulation. The unique systems enables real-time testing in interaction with the human cardiovascular system dynamics across various patient groups. You are expected to publish in scientific journals in an independent way and to support the coordination of the research group and supervision of students.

As a PostDoc, you will be an integral part of the growing Intelligent Heart Technology Lab, whose mission is to advance cardiovascular health technologies, at the Department of Biomedical Engineering and Health Systems. Read more about our research here. Throughout the project, you will work closely with stakeholders in clinics and international partners, enabling fast learning and idea exchange with medical doctors.
