Job description
Driven by the urgent challenges of climate change and energy security, energy systems are undergoing a paradigm shift toward a fully renewable and power-electronic-dominated future. This project aims to develop innovative solutions for the seamless integration and reliable operation of large-scale converter-interfaced renewable energy systems by leveraging AI-driven techniques.
The research focuses on developing advanced optimization and control strategies (e.g., deep reinforcement learning) for large-scale sustainable grids, to enhance overall system stability, flexibility, and resilience.
The project is funded by Swedish Energy Agency. The recruited researcher will join the Division of Electric Power and Energy Systems at KTH Royal Institute of Technology, collaborating closely with Swedish DSOs.
Qualifications
Requirements
- A doctoral degree or an equivalent foreign degree
- Research expertise in at least one of the following power system optimization, AI/deep
reinforcement learning, power electronics. - Very good knowledge in English, both written and verbal, as it is required in daily work.
Preferred qualifications
- Strong research expertise in at least one of the following power system optimization, AI, power electronics with good publication record·
- Good at coding in python with different DRL algorithms training, or good at digital platform development will be a preference
- Knowledge of diversity and equal opportunity issues, with specific focus on gender equality
- Collaborative abilities
- Independence
