Sonic content creator

KTH Royal Institute of Technology, School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science

Job description

A new research project is exploring the environmental (and other) impacts of using generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) for the creation of media content. In specific, we are working with a commercial-like online “radio station” prototype that features audio streams of of speech and music content created by generative AI (Stochastic Pirate Radio KSPR).

Your job will be to conceive of and direct the creation of new broadcast programs, exploring with the research team the look and feel of GenAI tools for the creation and management of KSPR content. Your focus is to create broadcasts on themes such as environmental activism and underrepresented communities.

We strongly encourage critical perspectives on AI. We will focus on urgent issues of social and environmental sustainability, both in your radio programs and in our research. Whereas we support critique and activism, we firmly exclude violence and other illegal actions.

Qualifications

Requirements

  • Interest in using generative AI tools for creative purposes is required, but no previous experience with such tools is demanded.

Preferred qualifications

  • Some experience in sonic arts is desirable, though not necessarily in professional artistic contexts.
  • We greatly appreciate previous and ongoing engagement with environmental activism, support for underrepresented communities, and work for NGOs.

Great emphasis will be placed on personal skills.
