Research Engineer in Smart Mobility Lab title

Job description

The position involves the development and testing of a laboratory platform for automated and connected vehicles at the Smart Mobility Lab at KTH. The focus is on interaction between vehicles and infrastructure, where control and coordination strategies are developed and implemented in autonomous systems.

The work includes implementation and validation of algorithms for coordination between vehicles and intelligent infrastructure, as well as integration of software in ROS-based systems. The role also involves supporting research activities by translating research ideas into working prototypes and experiments, and collaborating with students, researchers, and industrial partners.

Qualifications

Requirements

  • Master of Science (MSc) in Systems and Control, Robotics, Computer Science, or a related field
  • Strong programming skills, particularly in Python
  • Basic knowledge in control systems, robotics, or machine learning.

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience with autonomous systems or mobile robotics
  • Experience with ROS (Robot Operating System)
  • Experience with simulation or experimental systems
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of technical solutions
  • Good collaboration and communication skills
  • Awareness of diversity and equal opportunity issues, with specific focus on gender equality
