Research Assistant in Optimization at the Department of Mathematics

Job description

You will work on a project that aims to integrate neural network models into optimization problems for a specific application. The goal is to compute system-optimal solutions where neural networks are used to estimate agents’ optimal individual responses to given system parameters. In the project, you are expected to work independently. The work involves implementing optimization methods and models in Python, as well as training neural network models.

Qualifications

Requirements

You should have a Master of Science in Engineering degree or be in the final stages of your studies. As part of your studies, you should have taken courses in optimization and be familiar with integer optimization. You should have experience implementing optimization problems and know the basics of neural networks. You should also be comfortable programming in Python.

Great emphasis will be placed on personal skills.

About the employment

The employment is valid for a limited time according to the agreement - for up to 3 months, with access according to agreement.
