
Researcher in nuclear fuel materials

Job description
We are seeking a researcher to work on the NUCLEAR project (Advanced Nuclear Technology Laboratory) within the NuMaP (Nuclear Materials Platform) research platform, with the aim of developing the experimental nuclear technology environment. The researcher will work with advanced nuclear fuel materials and focus on advanced manufacturing processes, characterization, and exposure and testing of uranium-based materials.
Qualifications
Requirements
- A doctoral degree or an equivalent foreign degree.
- The researcher must have demonstrated experience working with public procurement processes.
- The researcher must have experience working with oxygen-sensitive materials such as uranium nitride.
- The researcher must possess expert knowledge of experimental materials characterization methods
Preferred qualifications
- Pedagogical ability, for example through the supervision of students.
- The researcher must have an excellent ability to communicate research and development work, and experience in ensuring that research results are put to practical use.
- It is considered an advantage if the researcher has demonstrated experience in developing and leading operations, staff, or students.
- The researcher must have good knowledge of diversity and equal opportunity issues, with particular focus on gender equality,
- Demonstrate excellent collaborative skills as well as the ability to work independently.
Great emphasis will be placed on personal skills.
