Change in the KTH Klientbackup service - name change

The software used for the KTH Client Backup service changes its name from Code42 Cloud to Crashplan.
Here is information for the users of the service.

Background

The company behind the backup software Code42 has changed its name to Crashplan in the spring of 2023. With this, they have made changes to their backup client.

As the KTH Client Backup service uses this client, there will be an update of the client on all computers that use the service.

The consequences of the change and update are small but may in some cases lead to you as a user having to log in again for the backups to continue.

  • The computers included are:
  • All computers in the KTH Mac service
  • Laptops with KTH-Ubuntu
  • Computers that do not run KTH's client platform but that purchase the separate service KTH Client Backup
  • Any private computers from users running the client platform (KTH Mac or KTH Ubuntu)

What does it mean and what do I need to do?
