Sustainable Transport Lab

Sustainable Transport Lab @ SEED

Sustainable Transport Lab is an interdisciplinary thematic research group at SEED focusing on the transition to a sustainable transport system. The group brings together researchers working on how technologies, behavioral patterns and policies can reach climate targets while providing just access to mobility and livable societies.

The research areas include scenario studies, e.g. backcasting, as well as studies concerning travel patterns and needs—individual and collective, social and cultural—and how these are shifting in response to policies and changing conditions. Projects span multiple modes and scales, from local neighborhoods to global air travel.

Current work includes: climate policy and fuel scenarios for aviation; innovative indicators and governance for sustainable air and rail transport; mobility justice in urban districts, policy tools and digital solutions for sustainable accessibility.

Transport Lab combines empirical research, policy analysis, and stakeholder engagement to support systemic change toward sustainable, inclusive, and future-proof transport.
