Job Opening: Application Expert in Bioinformatics at PDC

KTH, The School of Computer Science and Communication (CSC) announces a position as application expert in bioinformatics at PDC.

The successful candidate will join the PDC support team working closely with with academic researchers in the field of bioinformatics and focusing particularly on the needs of SciLifeLab (www.scilifelab.se). The work will include the installation and maintenance of bioinformatics applications at PDC and SNIC resources, the development of user-friendly interfaces to those applications and the exploration of new computing and storage strategies for bioinformatics, like for instance cloud systems. The successful candidate is expected to spend part of his/her working time at SciLifeLab.

Candidates need to have an academic education (preferably PhD) in computer science, bioinformatics, or related fields and proven experiences in maintaining and improving bioinformatics applications on shared Linux-based environments. Good knowledge of Linux and security mechanisms are required.
