Introduction to PDC Systems courses
PDC holds short “Introduction to PDC Systems” courses twice per year (usually in spring and in autumn).
Who can attend
All academic and business/industry researchers, as well as students, who are interested in using the Dardel system at PDC are welcome to attend these courses. There is no fee and the course is suitable for beginners to high-performance computing (HPC) and for people with HPC experience who want to learn about using Dardel.
Topics covered
The “Introduction to PDC Systems” courses focus on basic and advanced methods for using the Dardel system at PDC. Amongst other things, they cover:
- necessary background information about high-performance computing,
- the supercomputing system or systems that are available at PDC (currently Dardel),
- how to apply to use PDC resources,
- how to get an account at PDC,
- how to log in to systems at PDC,
- how to run software on different nodes,
- how to store your data for easy access,
- how to compile code on the Dardel CPU and GPU partitions,
- scientific research areas where application experts can provide assistance to researchers, and
- flagship software for research developed at KTH.
Course material
You can view the course material (including the presentations and lab exercises ) from the “Introduction to PDC Systems” course in March 2024. Any updates to the material in subsequent courses will be provided to the attendees.
