Interactions with systems can bring about feelings of resilience, hope, relief, strength, frustration and more… Some systems fall apart the more people interact with them, some systems thrive on movement and dynamism. Some systems are unbreakable. But what does it feel like in your body to interact with them? Who is in control in these interactions? Are you shaping it or is it shaping you? What happens if I am outside of it? What if I am in a group vs when I am alone in it?

When and where does the event happen?

Location: KTH Turbine Hall/Värmeverket (Drottning Kristinas väg 14)
What do participants gain from this experience?
In the first part of the event we will explore the above questions in a movement based workshop. We will be exploring our relations to both analogue and digital, interactive systems both alone and collectively. This workshop will largely build on interactive projection Loops for Stagnation. Through play and movement it lets us explore our relationship to larger scale systems such as the climate.
Following the workshop, you are invited for a mingle and dance party to Thirty3’s DJ set where he will accompany us with some sound loops. During that time you will be able to play around with the systems, in case you can’t make it to the workshop.
If you are interested in themes of embodiment, sustainability, collective actions, interactive projections you are warmly invited to this event!
Host information
Gabi Kiryluk is first year Interactive Media Technology student at KTH merging the digital with physical to explore themes of embodiment, sustainability and collectivity. By designing experiences and interactions she likes to encourage human connections, a sense of slowness and togetherness.
Loops for Stagnation is her bachelor thesis that has been displayed at Student Sustainability Research Conference 2023 at Leeds University, Night of Museums in Warsaw or now in Stockholm in a Navet event.

The sign-up is required to secure a spot for the workshop. However, everyone is welcomed for the DJ set following the workshop where you can play around with the installations.
