2025 Student competition - Transforming the Climate Action House
For this year's competition, the Climate Action Center is teaming up with Akademiska hus and KTH Live-In Lab to find the answer to one burning question: How can the Climate Action house be transformed to a hub for climate innovation?

Competition Overview
Step into the Climathon and reimagine how the KTH Climate Action House and its surroundings can be redesigned and organised to drive meaningful climate action! Organised by the KTH Climate Action Centre in collaboration with Akademiska Hus and KTH Live-In Lab, this competition challenges you to pitch bold, creative, and feasible ideas that can make our shared spaces more sustainable, inclusive, and inspiring.
This is your chance to propose how spatial design, technology, art, and community engagement can come together to reshape the future of campus life.
Theme & Challenges
-
Activate spaces to engage the KTH community in climate action
-
Integrate technology and design to promote sustainability
-
Align your project with SDG 13: Climate Action
-
Ensure your concept is practical and feasible
-
Deliver strong visual impact and communication
Example ideas include a biodiverse park, an interactive climate dashboard, rotating exhibitions, or upcycling events—but your creativity is the limit!
Why Join?
Work in interdisciplinary teams, receive expert guidance, and present your project to a jury of professionals. Stand out by contributing to a real-world transformation - and earn recognition while doing it.
The winning team will be offered a certificate and a choice of either 3 weeks’ employment and mentorship in June or August to further develop their plans in collaboration with Akademiska Hus, or a monetary award of 5000 SEK per person.
Who Can Join?
All students from KTH, SU, and KI are welcome, especially those eager to work across disciplines. You can apply solo or with a friend, and teams of 3 people will be formed.
