Berotec

Berotec  is a Swedish engineering consultancy firm which provides tailor-made technical solutions for companies that are tackling current and future challenges. Through their commitment, customer focus, and strategic capabilities, Berotec fosters long-term results and builds strong relationships, becoming an integral part of their clients’ operations. Berotec's highly skilled technical consultants work in four main areas. 

  1. Product development includes developing products that unite new technologies and modes of production, while retaining the value of the product. This can involve a wide range of fields including mechanics, electronics, materials sciences, calculation/simulation and analysis, manufacturing design and software development and testing.
  2. System development is about finding and producing the system that will best support the company in question and add value to it. Efficient systems support is key to a company’s productivity, profitability and competitiveness. As expectations increase, so too does the complexity of the systems. In addition, individual systems are becoming more intelligent and functions are merged together into larger subsystems, making compatibility even more important. Berotec's consultants assist, for example, with project management, system architecture, guidance systems, software development, embedded development, usability and user interfaces, mobile app development for iOS and Android, web development, and testing.
  3. Business development is about helping companies to do what they do more effectively in terms of the organisation, the systems that are in place, and the methodologies that are used. Some of Berotec's areas of expertise in business development include data science and lean business platforms.
  4. Production development is about establishing appropriate methods and techniques to make production processes efficient and deliver the best results. It is pivotal for companies to have optimal production processes. Otherwise, costs (in the form of waste, decreases in quality, or unnecessary capital accumulation) become an increasing issue. With increases in competition and strained budgets, Berotec is often asked to help produce more for less money whilst maintaining quality. To do this, consultants work, for example, with supply chain management, automation, sourcing, validation, control systems, and value stream mapping.

In many projects, Berotec leverages advanced tools, such as the Dardel supercomputer hosted by PDC at the KTH Royal Institute of Technology, for computational fluid dynamics (CFD) calculations and simulations, enabling optimisation and high-level problem-solving at the forefront of technology.
