Meet our future engineers at Järva
Like last year, the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science will attend political week in Järva. On June 14-16, we will be at their educational area with students, student projects, a Makerspace and hackers on site.
Sustainability and gender equality are some of KTH's priority areas and that is why the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS) is participating in Järva's Political Week. The aim is to create a dialogue about future opportunities and to inspire young people to choose a technical career.
- Broadened recruitment is a question of democracy and it is no news that heterogeneous groups contribute to the quality of a society. Therefore, it is important that we deliberately and actively work to promote broaden recruitment to higher education. University studies should be available to everyone regardless of background where geographical proximity is important, says Jens Zander, dean of the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science.
About Järva's Political Week in Spånga
Järva's Political Week is organized by the non-profit organization Global Village and aims at reducing the distance between people and elected people. Every day a party leader will speak on the big scene, just like in Almedalen, and each day has its own theme. 180 organizations and companies are attending the event which takes place at the Spånga sports ground.
