MUSIK(al)MAGI
Magical Musicals or Magic Music?
Time: Sun 2026-02-15 15.00 - 17.00
Location: Kungasalen, Kungl. Musikhögskolan (KMH), Valhallavägen 105
This concert is filled with powerful emotions and dramatic expression.
We have selected a wide range of popular and wonderful musical theatre songs that capture many different moods and also reflect the development of the musical as an art form – from Oh, Kay! by George Gershwin (1926) to classics such as The Phantom of the Opera and Les Misérables, as well as more modern musicals like Wicked and Änglagård.
A large part of the programme is devoted to Swedish musical theatre. Much of the music comes from the world-famous songwriting duo Björn Ulvaeus and Benny Andersson, featuring songs from their acclaimed musicals Chess and Kristina från Duvemåla.
This is the first time KTH Academic Orchestra collaborates with the young and talented jazz singers from the Royal College of Music, and we hope this marks the beginning of a new tradition.
Welcome to a musical journey into the enchanted world of musicals.
