CBE research call for proposals

The network Centre for Building Efficiency (CBE) invites researchers at KTH to apply for funding for feasibility studies, pilot studies or small research projects to be carried out this year (2025).

About CBE

The network Centre for Building Efficiency (CBE) at KTH works to increase efficiency in Swedish construction. CBE is a platform for collaboration between academia and industry. This includes efficient construction of the built environment, resource efficiency in new construction, life cycle perspectives and sustainability (material, social, ecological and financial). CBE is supported by the Stockholms Byggmästareförening and the School of Architecture and the Built Environment at KTH.

CBE has allocated 800 kSEK for smaller research projects, feasibility studies or pilot studies to be carried out this year (2025).

Prioritised areas are:

  • Work environment & safety,
  • Information management, digitization & AI,
  • Purchasing & construction site logistics or
  • Production methodology and process methodology

Applications are limited to a maximum of two A4 pages and must include the following headings:

  • Applicant
  • Purpose
  • Methodology
  • Expected impact
  • Deliverables (report, article, conference contribution and/or other)
  • Budget
  • Time plan
  • Possible ethical aspects
  • Attachment: Short CV of the project leader (max 1 A4 page)

Applications should be submitted to CBE and sent to centrum-byggeffektivitet@kth.se  no later than 15 March 2025. The selection of applications that are granted is based on how well CBE assesses that they will create value within CBE's purpose and prioritised areas.
