The concept for KTH's websites
The concept for our websites is comprehensive and governs the design, functionality and content.

Three websites
KTH has three centrally managed websites:
The external website, www.kth.se, has sections for different target groups and tasks. They are centrally maintained and common to the site. The common sections are accessed from the page header. Schools, institutions, and centres are starting nodes on the website.
The intranet and the student web are separate sites with their own page headers.
An overall concept
The parts of the website set up in web environments maintained by the central management are subject to specific system solutions and have specific design templates, navigation principles and associated information structures.
An overall framework guides the form and functions of the websites. This concept includes:
- structure
- navigation
- multiple languages
- graphic design
- training
- support
- roles of responsibility.
The central web management monitors the concept and it is, to some extent, built into the technical environment. It is also complied with by centrally managed applications that are technically independent of the site's overall publishing system but integrated with its design and navigation.
As the website design is part of an overall solution, it can only be transferred to web pages in other technical solutions with close cooperation with the central management team.
The guidelines and concept for KTH's website have been developed by KTH's central web management in consultation with those responsible for the website's common sections and the sections for schools and underlying organisations.
