Giorgia Chinazzo
Giorgia Chinazzo is a Ph.D. student in the Doctoral Programme of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne (EPFL) and a qualified Professional Civil and Environmental Engineer of the Italian Order of Engineers.
Title: Indoor environment as a multi-sensory experience: visual and thermal factor interactions
The presentation explores visual and thermal interaction effects on human responses in buildings, focusing on daylight as the visual stimulus.
Giorgia earned her B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Building Engineering from the Politecnico di Torino, graduating with honors in 2012 and 2014, respectively. In 2014, she also obtained a double M.Sc. degree in Building Engineering from Politecnico di Milano, by attending the Alta Scuola Politecnica.
Her research interests and competences are centered on human comfort and perception in buildings, daylight, energy efficient strategies and sustainable design. She has co-authored one journal article and eight conference papers, and she has been awarded with the runner-up prize in the student paper competition from the International Colour Association. Giorgia is actively involved in teaching activities: she is a lecturer and a teaching assistant for B.Sc. and M.Sc. courses in sustainable design and comfort, and she has co-supervised seven student projects.
Giorgia has served as a reviewer for international conferences in building science and simulation, has been invited to present her research to scientific events centered on multidisciplinary research and has co-chaired a workshop in an international conference on human comfort.
