Urban Planning alumnus Tanmoy Bari awarded Alum of the year

Innovator Tanmoy Bari has been named the KTH Alum of the Year 2024. He came up with the idea for the Greenely energy platform while studying the Degree Programme in Civil Engineering and Urban Management at KTH.

“I studied Urban and Regional Planning at the School of Architecture and the Built Environment at KTH, which gave me a deep understanding of how cities are constructed and how we can plan for more efficient cities and lives in the future. This knowledge helped me develop the idea of how we can live more sustainably in terms of energy use, which led to Greenely, the company I started", says Tanmoy Bari, KTH's Alumn of the Year 2024.

Tanmoy studied MSc Sustainable Urban Planning and Design , specialising in Urban and Regional Planning, within the Degree Programme in Civil Engineering and Urban Management (Civilingenjörsprogrammet i samhällsbyggnad) .

Tanmoy Bari is awarded Alum of the Year 2024 for his ability to develop a technical innovation that provides knowledge and contributes to a more sustainable planet.

As CEO and co-founder of the company Greenely, he inspires consumers to reduce energy consumption. Over a decade, Tanmoy has shown courage, perseverance and real entrepreneurship in his efforts to build a company that meets the challenges of the energy market.

He engages on a broader level by sharing his knowledge with students and actively participating in the public debate on energy issues. Combined with a responsive approach and an openness to the outside world, Tanmoy is a true KTH ambassador and an inspiring leader in social sustainable development.
