COP23 SIM4NEXUS side-event with UNIDO

The Water-Food-Energy Nexus
An EU side event entitled "The Water-Food-Energy Nexus" was held at the Room Tallinn 12:00 to 13:30, on 11 November, jointly organized by WUR-LEI and UNIDO. Interesting discussions took place on Nexus-related issues, policies and resource efficiency. There is wide recognition of the strong interaction between Water-Energy-Food at varying geographical and temporal scales - and that these are important to consider for sustainable resource management.
Two ongoing international projects that aim to further the development nexus assessments, SIM4NEXUS and ISWEL , were presented during the side event. KTH-dESA is a partner of the SIM4NEXUS project (funded through Horizon2020) that aims at providing understanding of the implications of resource efficiency and low-carbon economy in a Nexus context in Europe.
Speakers at the event included: Robert Novak (UNIDO), Chrysi Laspidou (UTH), Jason Levin-Koopman (WUR), Robert Oakes (UNU), Simon Langan (IIASA), Maria Witmer (PBL), David Rodgers (GEF).
