Information about the project

Short project facts

Funded by: Schibsted
Time period: 2020-2028
Project members: INDEK/KTH, Schibsted

Background

Artificial intelligence (AI) is changing many industries, as the media industry. The media group Schibsted and KTH have started a collaboration to develop responsible use and sustainable implementation of the new technology.

The challenges that AI and digitalisation create cannot just be met by one sector, it requires collaboration. The research can generate insights that will change the entire industry. The goal is to identify opportunities and reliable ways for the media industry to continue working with AI and to support sustainable implementation.

This project will be carried out as an Industrial PhD where Agnes Stenbom, data and AI specialist at Schibsted, will be a Doctoral student in the field of responsible use of data and AI in the Nordic media industry. The Industrial PhD position is located at ITM, Doctor Mattias Wiggberg is project leader and supervisor, and Professor Matti Kaulio is supervisor.
