Why?

Why do we need to work on equality, diversity, and equal conditions in education? KTH has high aspirations and has implemented many measures that promote these areas. However, there are several strong reasons to continue developing the work on equality, diversity, and equal conditions. Here, laws, mandates, ambitions, goals, plans, and strategies are presented that are useful to be aware of, as they form a framework for KTH's work on equality, diversity, and equal conditions in education.

Providing equal opportunities  for all students, free from discrimination based on gender, ethnicity, or other factors, is fundamental to fair education and ethical conduct. This commitment reflects our responsibility to contribute to a society where everyone can thrive.

An inclusive and equitable learning environment , rich in diverse perspectives and experiences, fosters innovation and creativity, enhancing the quality of education and research. Global competitiveness requires attracting and retaining talent from diverse backgrounds.
