• ”The Swedish system for research funds is nothing short of a scandal”

  KTH needs much larger public research funds. Today researchers have to spend more time writing grant applications than teaching and supervising PhD students, writes materials scientist Bo Sundman in a polemical article. He had to emigrate in order to complete his research project in Materials Science.

• Prisma - a service to simplify applications

  Prisma is an e-service used by the Swedish Research Council (VR), Formas, Forte, the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency, the Swedish National Space Agency, and the Swedish Institute for Educational Research. Prisma is used for applications, the review and signature process, and reporting.

• Three Major Research Environment Grants to SweWIN researchers

  ​ The Swedish Research Council assigned a total of 104 million SEK to four research projects on 6G wireless systems in a call for Research Environment Grants. Three of the projects contain research area leaders from SweWIN and will enable them to extend their research activities, while exploiting synergies with the ongoing activities in SweWIN.

• Three New National Research Grants to SweWIN Researchers

  Between September and October 2025, three area leaders at SweWIN (Oscar Quevedo-Teruel, Emil Björnson and Cicek Cavdar) were awarded three national grants, from the Swedish Research Council and Vinnova, to launch projects at different scales.
