Lunch 'n' Learn: The new plagiarism tool – Originality 21/10

On October 31, the plagiarism detection tool Ouriginal will be discontinued, and starting November 1, it will be replaced by the new tool Inspera Originality. During this Lunch ‘n’ Learn session, you’ll get an introduction to Originality and an overview of what you need to know as a user. We’ll demonstrate how the tool looks in Canvas, go through key settings, and highlight important considerations as we transition to the new system.

The purpose of this session is to give you, as a teacher, course coordinator or examiner, a clear understanding of how Originality works, what features it offers, and how the tool can be used in the course’s assessment activities. You will also receive guidance on the transition from Ouriginal to Originality and practical steps to prepare for using the tool in your own course.

After the session, you will:

  • Know the key features of Originality

  • Understand how the tool is integrated into Canvas

  • Be aware of the settings and options you should configure for effective use

  • Be prepared for the differences between Ouriginal and Originality

The webinar will conclude with an opportunity to ask questions and discuss the session’s content.
