Teacher stories: "Online videos for education"

The rapid switch to online teaching has more or less forced many teachers to become creators of educational videos overnight. What is a good educational video and why should one continue to use online videos after we can safely return to an in-person meeting when the pandemic is over? Joakim Jaldén will share his thoughts on the video format for teaching and learning at KTH.

Time: Wed 2021-02-10 12.15 - 13.00

Why use online videos after the pandemic?

Although the situation may not have allowed for any more profound thoughts about the relative benefits of videos in education, many teachers and students will likely leave the pandemic with an appreciation of the format, at least when done well. But this raises the question of what a good educational video may be and why one should continue to use online videos after we can safely return to an in-person meeting.

In this webinar, Joakim Jaldén will share his thoughts on the video format for teaching and learning at KTH. Joakim has worked with online videos for Flipped Classroom teaching since 2013. As previous lunch'n' learn webinars have covered the Flipped Classroom concept, this webinar will focus on the videos. For the same reason, it will also focus more on the why rather than the how of online videos.

The webinar is given in English and will be recorded.
