The Director of Studies network, which is based on experiences from the PA network, is an informal network where KTH's directors of studies in undergraduate education can exchange experiences, discuss common issues and share information.

The theme is recruitment/employment of teachers (assistant professors, associate professors and senior lecturers) and other teaching staff. Anna Finne Wistrand, Chair of the Employment Board (AN), will participate and talk about AN's interpretations of the employment regulations. Information, knowledge sharing and discussion on the current situation and development needs.

Background: The role of Director of Studies usually involves matching teachers to teaching needs and coordinating the exchange of teachers with other institutions, schools or external parties. This means that the directors of studies want teachers who are competent to teach the courses to be staffed, supervise and examine theses, carry out pedagogical development, be programme managers, etc. Therefore, it is highly relevant what expectations are placed on newly hired and already employed teachers to participate in the programme. There are many issues related to employment regulations and recruitment. We look forward to a broad and fruitful discussion with the Directors of Studies and the Chair of the Employment Board!
