Time plan licentiate

The seminar should take place between 7 January and 15 June or between 15 and August and 20 December. For more detailed information please contact the Doctoral studies Administration at the department.

In the President's decision regarding the update of the layout for doctoral and licentiate theses (V-2020-0075), approved templates have been produced for the cover, title page and the following page containing bibliographic information, as well as a joint template for theses where KTH is one of several issuers. The cover, title page and the following page are formatted by US-AB in connection with printing.

According to the established schedule, the application must be submitted to the school’s doctoral education administration seven (7) weeks before the planned date. These seven weeks must fall within the periods 7 January–15 June or 15 August–20 December. Remember to book a room and arrange printing.

The forms that you need can be downloaded from the Blankettarkivet (Form archive)  at KTH. For more detailed information please contact the school's doctoral studies administration.

Main supervisor proposes an advance reviewer (the advance reviewer must have at least 10 days to do the review).

  • Form: Announcement of licentiate seminar (Anmälan – licentiatseminarium)
  • Form: Quality review (Summering av kvalitetsgranskning för licentiat- och doktorsavhandling)

Decision of the licentiate seminar is distributed.

Director of Third Cycle Education and the school's Doctoral studies administration

The thesis has to be distributed.

The licentiate thesis must be made available in electronic form through Diva (posted).

The "certificate" (Intyg - licentiatexamen) for the seminar is sent to the main supervisor.

After the seminar

The certificate (Intyg - licentiatexamen) is sent to the doctoral studies officer at ABE

All courses are to be completed and registered in Ladok.

Thesis is registered in Ladok.

The application for a Degree Certificate should be made online through Personal menu/Services

The application is reviewed first by the school's Doctoral studies administration and then by a degree officer at KTH, central administration.

All KTH Degree Certificates are issued as electronic documents.
