Appoint Director of First and Second Cycle Education (GA) for the Built Environment

The process is now initiated to appoint a Director of First and Second Cycle Education (GA) for the subject area the built environment for the coming term of office, 1 July 2022 - 30 June 2026. The current term of office ends on June 30, 2022.

The ABE school has a main person responsible for the school's First and Second Cycle Education and a part

responsible (Deputy) with responsibility for subject-specific parts of the First and Second Cycle Education; subject area architecture and subject area the built environment, respectively. Rotation between the main responsible and the deputy takes place on an annual basis or by agreement during the four-year term of office.

Competence requirements (V-2019-0629)

Director of First and Second Cycle Education (GA) must have experience of teaching at undergraduate and advanced level, experience of being a course responsible teacher and examiner and experience of conducting research.

In addition, Director of First and Second Cycle Education (GA) must have (1) completed a doctoral degree, (2) completed higher education pedagogical education and (3) the right to examine at undergraduate and advanced level during his or her term of office.

The assignment:

The Director of First and Second Cycle Education (GA) is responsible for the quality of education at undergraduate and advanced level and for the school's educational programmes being developed in line with KTH's overall strategy, goals and internal governing documents. The development of educational programmes must take place in agreement with KTH's other schools.

GA is also subject responsible.

The scope of the assignment is about 50% of a full-time position.

Furthermore, GA is responsible for

  • the school's programmes and course offerings at preparatory level, undergraduate and advanced level and that the offer is developed in line with KTH's strategy and goals with special focus on gender equality, sustainable development, internationalisation and digitalisation;
  • the overall systematic quality work for education at preparatory level, undergraduate and advanced level;
  • strategy for student recruitment;
  • the internationalisation of education and collaboration with the surrounding society;
  • that issues concerning the quality of education are coordinated between KTH's schools.

GA leads the school's Quality Advisory Board for First and Second Cycle Education. The Quality Advisory Board includes teacher representatives, Programme Directors, the Education Administration Manager, Chair of the school council from THS Student Union and, where applicable, an external representative. The Quality Advisory Board shall work with a focus on quality issues and with the continuous follow-up and corresponding feedback in KTH's quality system.

Nomination process
It is possible for school employees to submit nominations for the assignment as GA for the subject area the built environment. The nominee must have accepted the nomination. It is possible to nominate yourself. Nominations are sent to ledningsstod-kansli@abe.kth.se

1 – 31 May 2022

Selection and interviews

A nomination committee consisting of the school's Heads of Departments together with the 1st Deputy Head of School and student representative interviews selected candidates. The nomination committee submits a proposal for a candidate for the position as GA to the Head of School no later than 31 May.

By 16 June 2022

Decision

No later than 16 June, the Head of School makes a decision on Director of First and Second Cycle Education (GA) for the subject area the built environment.
