Högskolepedagogisk workshop
Time & Sustainability Doctoral Workshop
This interdisciplinary summer school brings together PhD students from ecology, environmental communication, humanities, and related fields to explore sustainability transformations through the lens of time. While spatial aspects of sustainability are well studied, temporal dynamics—such as differing time frames, rhythms, and narratives—remain underexplored despite their central role in sustainability conflicts.
Through interactive workshops, creative methods, and individual research development, participants will examine how temporal assumptions shape research practices and sustainability debates, including issues of power, justice, and inequality. The programme emphasises identifying and working with competing human and more-than-human temporalities.
Time: Thu 2026-05-28 - Fri 2026-06-05
Location: Campus (SLU, Uppsala Campus)
The summer school will be led by Professor Keri Facer and Dr Harriet Hand (both University of Bristol), who lead the large international programme Times and the Just Transition. It will be hosted by the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU), in collaboration with researchers from Uppsala University and KTH Royal Institute of Technology.
