Staff mobility in Europe via Erasmus+

Through Erasmus staff mobility, you as an employee at KTH can exchange experiences and gain new knowledge. For example, you can job-shadow colleagues at other universities in Europe or participate in language courses. As a teacher, you can teach at a partner university and share your knowledge. Both teachers and administrative staff at KTH can apply for a scholarship for travel and accommodation through Erasmus+.

Please apply through our system Mobility-Online via the links below. Choose the type of application that matches the mobility you plan to undertake.

Both academic and administrative/technical staff can apply to go on Erasmus Staff Mobility within EU and Erasmus' associated members . As an employee at KTH, you can use EU funds to explore various skills-building activities. For example, you can job-shadow a colleague at a partner university, take a language course abroad, participate in so-called "Partner days" at other higher education institutions in Europe, or carry out other knowledge-enhancing mobilities. The scholarship is a contribution to the department that covers the travel costs and is paid after you return home.

The purpose of mobility is to see yourself from an international perspective. You will exchange experiences within your field and gain knowledge from others. Prepare to share your knowledge with a corresponding organisation.

The mobility should be in line with the organisation's goals and have a strong connection to your role at KTH. Completed mobilities are followed up by the EU, where the impact and results of the mobility are evaluated. Mobility should stimulate both your and KTH's development and internationalisation. For continued exchange of experience, you can welcome an international colleague to KTH.

Do you need extra support to be able to carry out mobility? Then you are welcome to contact KTH's Erasmus coordinator.

Various kinds of mobilties

As a KTH teacher, you can go to a partner university and teach, have a workshop or attend a workshop. Your travel and subsistence are funded through Erasmus + and KTH. The exchange can be preparing new teaching materials, consolidating and expanding contacts and collaboration between departments and faculties and preparing for future cooperation projects.

As an administrator at KTH, you have the opportunity to go on an international exchange or spend time at a partner university. Your travel and subsistence are funded through Erasmus + and KTH. For example, you can work as a colleague, attend a course (not conferences) or a training week in a European Union / EEA country. The purpose of the staff exchange is to create a forum where administrators from different universities meet and exchange experiences to get a European perspective on their daily work. All employees at KTH can apply for an exchange at a partner university.

Conditions for staff mobility

All staff can take part in the scholarship if the mobility is at least two days and a maximum of one month (applies to new applications). The most common is to participate in an activity for one week. You can teach or hold a seminar even if you are not an academic. The requirement is at least 8 hours of pure teaching for at least 2 days. It is your immediate manager who approves the mobility, and the Erasmus manager grants the Erasmus funds.

If you do not complete your application for funds within 3 months of returning from the mobility, no funds will be paid.

Please note: As the UK and Switzerland are not part of the Erasmus+ programme, very few scholarships can be granted for mobilities there.
