Course offerings
Below you will find information on how to offer a third cycle course, intended for examiners and course coordinators at CBH.
When a third cycle (doctoral level) course is to be given, a course offering must first be created in Ladok. Information is then published in KTH's Course and programme directory and becomes visible and searchable for doctoral students. A course offeringis also needed for a Canvas room to be created and for admission/registration of participants in Ladok. Early announcement of course offerings makes it easier for doctoral students to plan their studies, and KTH's recommendation is that course offeringsshould be published the semester before the course is given.
Do you plan to give third cycle course at CBH?
-
Send information about the desired course offering to phdadmin@cbh.kth.se with information about:
-
Course code and course name
-
When the course will be given (start and end date or period )
-
Whether the course will be taught jointly (“samläsning”) with a course at the master's level and if so, which course. If desired, the course rooms in Canvas can then be merged into a joint room.
-
Before the course starts, send a list of participants to phdadmin@cbh.kth.se and we will admit the doctoral students.
-
When the course is completed, the results should be sent to the same address with information about which students have passed the course and the examination date. Dates are needed for all modules if there is more than one. Unless otherwise stated, the examination date for the most recently completed module will also be the examination date for the entire course.
Admission of doctoral students from other universities
Admission of doctoral students from other universities to a third cycle course at KTH requires special permission. More information can be found here .
Doctoral students from other universities can only be admitted to a course at the undergraduate and advanced level at KTH under one of the following conditions:
(1) the course is listed on universityadmissions.se and they apply via that platform or
(2) the doctoral student's company or university pays for the course which requires an agreement with the course provider at KTH.
Note that not everyone can take courses at KTH. In addition to permission from the examiner or course coordinator, the applicant must have access to Mobile BankID or be able to show a physical ID on KTH campus to activate their KTH account. Anyone who does not have Mobile BankID or can identify themselves by visiting the KTH campus cannot take a course at KTH.
