Collegial influence at the CBH School
KTH has introduced a collegial organization from 2024, which means that faculty boards have been established at KTH's schools. One argument for this is that strong collegial influence and decision-making is, among other things, a safeguard for the independence of an institution. Increased collegial influence also strengthens the university's ability to quickly adapt to what is happening in the international research and education arena.
According to KTH's rules of procedure, the Faculty Board has overall responsibility for collegial anchoring within the school and for establishing forms of collegial exchange across the school's areas of activity, subjects and research disciplines.
KTH has a Faculty Council, which is a university-wide body, responsible for collegial anchoring within the university and for facilitating collegial exchange regarding fundamental academic values across subjects and research disciplines.
The five faculty boards agreed early on to introduce a meeting forum, known as a school meeting, at all KTH schools. At CBH, the school meeting is held two times per semester at one of the school's campuses. In order for as many people as possible to participate, it is possible to attend the meeting digitaly. At the meeting, one or more current issues are presented and there is room for discussions.
Some news, decision or discussion from each Faculty Board meeting is usually presented in the CBH News.
The CBH Faculty Board is keen to address the most relevant issues at the school meetings to inspire participation and engagement.
Please send suggestions for topics that you think are important to discuss to the CBH Faculty Board Secretary Anna Höglund Rehn ( annahr@kth.se ) or to the Faculty Board Vice President Eva Malmström ( mavem@kth.se ).
