Internal Inventory: Research Infrastructure Needs ahead of the Swedish Research Council's 2025 Call
Ahead of the Swedish Research Council’s (VR) upcoming inventory of needs for research infrastructure of national interest, KTH is conducting an internal inventory. The purpose is to identify and prioritize needs within KTH before proposals can be submitted to VR.
Important Dates
- Deadline to submit to KTH’s internal inventory:
- 8 September 2025 at 12:00 noon
- Submit to: marilynk@kth.se
Instructions for KTH’s Internal Process
- The proposal must be anchored and approved by the Head of Department and the School Dean.
- Proposals must be submitted for infrastructures where KTH is either the host or a participating partner.
- Submitted needs will be prioritized by KTH’s Research Executive Committee.

Who Can Submit a Proposal?
Research infrastructures that plan to apply in the Swedish Research Council’s upcoming call (preliminarily 2026/2027) are eligible to participate in the internal inventory.
What Can a Proposal Concern?
Examples of needs that have been relevant in previous calls:
- New research infrastructure
- Coordination and significant further development of existing resources
- Continued operation of infrastructures with VR grants expiring in 2027 or 2028
- Major further development within ongoing research infrastructures
Information from the Swedish Research Council
VR will open its next inventory of needs for research infrastructure of national interest on 1 October.
Deadline for submissions is 3 November at 14:00.
