Erling-Persson Foundation

In 1947, Erling Persson founded the company that today has developed into the global H&M group. In 1999, the Erling Persson Foundation was established in memory of Erling's many contributions to trade and enterprise. Donations from the Persson family fund the foundation.

Grants are primarily awarded to research or educational projects in medicine and areas of interest close to or involving the subject of entrepreneurship. Application-oriented research is prioritised. Grants may be awarded for clearly identifiable purposes focusing on the situation of vulnerable children. The Foundation does not support pure basic research.

The Foundation prefers projects to have an interdisciplinary character. There is no fixed limit to the amount that can be applied for. Projects can generally be 2-5 years long and must be clearly defined (not part of ongoing activities, not research programmes). The main applicant should have a senior position within their organisation. Decisions are based on the project's financial plan.

If you are planning to apply for a project grant from the Erling-Persson Foundation, you should contact the Research Support Office  in good time to finalise the internal nomination process and to receive the template for the letter of support to be attached to the application.

The call closes on 25 April 2025, and you need to submit the letter of support to the RSO no later than 14 April 2025. The Vice President for Research reviews the letters of support and decides which applications will be forwarded to our President for signature.
