Collective organisation, equal opportunities, knowledge and awareness, as well as inclusive culture, have been identified as important components for Gender equality, Diversity and Equal opportunities at KTH.
Crucial components
At KTH, overall organization, equal conditions, knowledge and awareness, as well as inclusive culture have been identified as goals and means for Gender equality, Diversity and Equal opportunities. These four components interact and overlap.
Collective organisation has to do with the extent to which the university as a whole, including the management, has explicitly committed itself to creating an activity that is characterized by diversity and inclusion.
Equal opportunities (access and success) are about different people's access to the business and opportunities for success: What does it look like with representation and diversity among students, teachers, researchers, administrators and management? How well is diversity represented at all levels, including management? What does the throughput look like, based on, for example, ethnicity and gender?
Knowledge and awareness (infused programs) are about the core business of higher education - education programs, curricula, teaching and research: To what extent are different perspectives and issues of diversity and inclusion integrated in the core business?
Inclusive culture (affirming climate) is about how different individuals and groups experience the university: Is it an affirmative climate? Does everyone feel welcome? Confirmed? Included? Belonging?
