Organisation and management

Environmental and sustainability issues must be integrated into regular operations and should be reflected in the development plan 2017-2021, and the administrative development plan 2017-2021.

Procurement and purchasing

Environmental requirements should apply in direct procurement above 100 000 SEK, according to KTH's Environmental Requirements list, where this is relevant.

The ITM school intends to hire an assistant professor who will work with the circular economy and contribute to a more sustainable society.


In collaboration with existing and new partners, interested parties and students the ITM school should work to contribute to sustainable development of society.

Handling of chemicals

The ITM school should work to create conditions for a well functioning handling of chemicals by 1). increase the number of documented risk assessments completed during the period 2016-2020, 2) improve the recording in KLARA so that the compilation of the annual consumption of solvents and flammable products can be conducted in a satisfactory manner, 3) implement the chemical routine at the ITM school further.


Carbon dioxide emissions generated by business travel of the ITM school should decrease by 10 % during the period 2016-2020.

KTH campus

- The ITM school should work for a more secure and effective management of hazardous waste, as well as the prospects for the sorting of relevant waste fractions on this area of activity during the period 2016-2018.

- The electricity consumption of the ITM school should be reduced by 5 % per square meter from 2016-2020 (KTH Södertälje not included).
