The project will study the effects of large investments on entrepreneurship and firm dynamics in small-city Sweden

Currently several large-scale industrial establishments are underway in relation to investments in the green transition. These investments are often seen as a solution for rural and small-town regions previously characterized by economic decline. However, the effects on the regional economy are complex and not fully understood. The project will highlight how these establishments affect the economy in the region. The empirical study focuses on the establishment of Northvolt Ett in Skellefteå.
