Thesis projects closer to the industry
14 industry-sponsored master projects in controllable and intelligent power components for electric grids will give students the opportunity to apply their engineering skills in an industrial context. By tying academia and industry closer to each other, EIT InnoEnergy gives students better hopes for employment upon graduation.
Cluster gives KTH European muscles
Through its membership of the Cluster network, KTH can more easily compete with Europe's most prominent universities. For example, without Cluster it would have been difficult to achieve success within EIT, where KTH is involved in creating Europe's future innovations. That is the opinion of Mirko Varano, network coordinator at KTH.
Strategic Initiatives (STRIV)
The Strategic Initiatives group provides internal support for the establishment, coordination and development of strategic initiatives, such as research centres, Strategic Research Areas (SRA), Research Infrastructures (RI), KTH research platforms and EIT KICs (European Institute of Innovation & Technology, Knowledge & Innovation Communities). The research advisors in the Strategic initiatives group work closely with the KTH management.

KTH is part of five consortia within the prestigious EU-funded European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT), set up in 2008 to boost innovation and entrepreneurship to strengthen European competitiveness and make Europe a global leader in strategic areas.
MSc ICT Innovation (EIT Digital)
The joint master's in ICT Innovation programme combines technical competences in the comprehensive field of Information and Communication Technology with strong skills in innovation and entrepreneurship. Students create an individual curriculum based on their interest in different areas of ICT and study at two European universities. Graduates receive a double degree and excellent qualifications for managerial posts in global markets.
Due to the ongoing trend of urbanisation, the impact of supply deliveries on citizens and the city itself is increasing in terms of congestion, noise and emissions. Researching the use case of off peak deliveries together with silent solutions for transportation and load handling, a guideline is being developed on how to improve the liveability in urban areas, without compromising efficiency.
