  • Better help with accommodation for foreign researchers

KTH increases the support to foreign researchers and teachers. From 1 November, KTH has a central reception and service for the approximately 1,500 international professors, Ph.D. students and other researchers who are working at KTH. The immediate focus is to improve the accommodation service for those recently arrived.

  • Relief for foreign researchers' housing woes

Third-cycle student Zanyar has lived at three temporary addresses in a single year, and maintaining a residence in Stockholm for himself and his wife has been a constant struggle. He has sent hundreds of e-mails, visited every housing website imaginable and come close to living on the street. In April he has to move once again, but thanks to the new KTH Relocation Service he has been given a one-year contract for his next home.

  • Helping foreign researchers wade through Swedish bureaucracy

Long delays with Sweden’s Migration Board and communication gaps between authorities combine daily to create hurdles for international scientists at KTH Royal Institute of Technology. But now the university has increased its support to foreign researchers relocating to Sweden, and in some instances has taken on individual cases.
