Course specific information and AI
Documentation from Lunch ‘n’ Learn 27 August 2025.
In this Lunch ’n’ Learn, you will hear more about course-specific information regarding generative AI. KTH recommends that every course syllabus clearly states if – and how – generative AI may be used in the course. In the webinar, you will get the background to the decision and tips on how to choose the right approach to AI use.
About the webinar
KTH’s recommendation is that every course syllabus and Canvas room clearly state if – and how – generative AI tools may be used in the course. The webinar opened with Nina Wormbs from the Faculty Council, who provided background to the decision and explained why the issue of AI use in education needs to be addressed locally in each course.
This was followed by a review of the four levels of AI use developed by KTH:
-
No use of generative AI tools allowed
-
Generative AI tools only allowed in specific assignments
-
Generative AI tools allowed according to given guidelines
-
Free use of generative AI tools
Caroline Bern then gave examples of how different courses can formulate their course-specific information based on subject, learning outcomes, and chosen level. The webinar concluded with a Q&A session.
