External project manager for progress of development projects at SCI

The project involves creating user-oriented support and relief for GA, deputy GA, deputy heads of departments and teachers in the SCI school's projects to achieve sufficient project progress and impact. The school's staff can then focus on the areas where their core expertise will be of best use.

Mapped principles

The project is mapped to the following framework principles:

This project is implemented at the School Engineering Sciences (SCI) within the Future Education programme (project no. 2523-SCI).

Project context

One lesson from the development projects in 2023 and 2024 is that it is difficult to get sufficient progress on the projects. Several projects started but ended too quickly since project managers were assigned to other, more urgent tasks. Some projects never started. The school's project that had the greatest impact, Data Driven Assessment of Qualifications (DDMV), had an external project manager which was absolutely crucial. There is therefore a need for an external project manager who holds together the SCI school projects and relieves the burden on the GA, deputy GAs, deputy heads of departments and teachers, to achieve sufficient project progress and impact in the SCI school's projects.

Purpose (outcome)

The first purpose is to ensure that all projects get off the ground and have the right pace. A project manager who holds all projects together at the SCI school will further relieve the GA, Deputy GA, deputy heads and teachers so that they can focus on the areas where their core expertise will be of best use. In this way, we can achieve better progress and greater impact for all projects.

Project results (output)

  • Clearer progress and greater impact on all projects – which otherwise tend to slip off the agendas of highly stressed teachers
  • In parallel, development of project organisation skills.
