The autumn 2021 fourth and last Sustainable Transformation Seminar is held by lecturer Anders Johansson - Scania Global Industrial Development - with the title "Factories of tomorrow: Product manufacturing and value production". The format is 25 minutes presentation and 20 minutes of guided and open discussion with a KTH moderator/host.

About the seminar

To address the urgent environmental issues, we need more collaboration and develop our manufacturing system to be sustainable. But are our traditional development processes and decision models fully supporting us or holding us back?

In this talk, you will get a unique and honest insight into how Scania is developing its factories of tomorrow. We will spotlight our traditional ways of working with manufacturing system development and challenge the current development objectives.

Today, focus resides on our products and profits, but new manufacturing stakeholders can generate novel values. With a new mindset and holistic system approach, we can accelerate the transformation to a more sustainable digital industry. Design features like unselfish cross-functional collaboration and visit friendliness are two examples that will be explored.

Registration

We welcome a limited audience to join us physically for a seminar-lunch in the black-box room at KTH Södertälje / Södertälje Science Park, Kvarnbergagatan 12, Södertälje.

You will have the chance to network with other participants and meet our speaker. Lunch will be provided during the seminar.

About Anders Johansson, Scania Global Industrial Development

Anders Johansson/Scania

Anders Johansson has 15 years of industrial experience, working both within the aerospace and automotive industry. He is currently working with global research and external cooperation at Scania while finalizing a Ph.D. degree. His research focuses on the manufacturing development process and the associated decision structures.

Anders Johansson is also active in the national collaboration arena for manufacturing research and development, The Swedish Manufacturing R&D Clusters . He is currently the chair for the Production Management cluster, working with other companies, universities, and research institutes to strengthen Sweden’s continued success as a sustainable industrial nation.
