Changing Eduroam Certificates

Replacing root certificate on eduroam KTH - December 2nd

Time: Tue 2025-12-02 15.00 - 16.00

Export to calendar

System/Service: Eduroam

On Tuesday, December 2nd of this year (2025), the certificate for eduroam will be replaced. The current certificate will become invalid (due to time constraints) shortly thereafter. Since SUNET (Geant) and thus KTH have a new certificate issuer, this means that the CA root certificate must also be replaced.

Who is affected:  Employees and students

How the Service window affects you: This normally means that the clients will ask the users to approve the new certificate and enter their username and network secret  again. To facilitate the configuration of clients and avoid problems with approving a new certificate, there is an installation tool adapted for the KTH environment - “eduroam CAT” (Configuration Assistant Tool), at Eduroam CAT . The tool contains the new (and old) CA root certificate. The tool is available for all common platforms.

It works great to install this new configuration even before December 2nd.

See Eduroam at KTH  for more detailed instructions
