Mikael on management training in inclusive leadership

Head of School Mikael Lindström writes about the CBH School's ongoing management training in inclusive leadership.

We are finally up and running with CBH's management training in inclusive leadership together with the company Näringslivets Ledarskapsakademi. The course is divided into three parts that are given during three full days in April, May and June. We are creating a common knowledge platform with definitions and concepts such as gender equality, equality, diversity, intersectionality and gender mainstreaming. We focus on the manager's role and responsibilities, and the manager as a cultural carrier. If we compare with the world of sports, there is no athlete who only plays matches or competes, training is a big part of the development. In the same, if you look at leadership where every day is match day, this course provides opportunities for reflection and training.

Happily, there are over 70 managers at the CBH School participating in the training, and the discussions and sharing of experiences have been very rewarding so far. It's a lot about us all working here at the school, jointly creating CBH.

I think this will be important when we return after the pandemic. After having had a digital approach for more than a year, we need to replenish our culture. During the spring, we will conduct a number of workshops with managers and employees on how we view telework even after the pandemic. It is important that we take with us what has actually worked better digitally and what has been challenging with the distance and needs to be reinforced with physical presence.
