Mikael: Welcome back!

Published Aug 18, 2021

Head of School Mikael Lindström welcomes the CBH School's staff back after the summer holidays and writes about education this autumn and the strategy for the coming semester.

I hope that everyone has had a nice and restful summer vacation and are looking forward to a new semester. Unfortunately, the autumn term will once again be marked by the pandemic, but we do everything to ensure that the work environment is safe and that we can have as much teaching on site as possible after three semesters with mostly online education. This will be accomplished by following the Swedish Public Health Agency's recommendations for higher education. On Monday, we welcomed our first year students on our various campuses. It is one of the best work days of the year, to see the student’s enthusiasm for studying at KTH and that we get to share everything fantastic at the CBH School. Right now, the reception of new students is underway. We have close contact with the Student Union (THS) and have received the following greeting from them:

"We hope you feel the joy that permeates the reception and that you have confidence in our ability to handle this safely, but if you experience something that worries you or does not seem to follow our rules, you can contact us ( reception@ths.kth.se , 08 - 790 98 66).”

On Friday, the management of the CBH School will have a strategy discussion, and we were really looking forward to meeting in person again, after all the Zoom meetings during the past year. However, due to current recommendations from the government and the Swedish Public Health Agency, regarding continued restrictions in society, we have decided to hold Friday's planned strategy day via Zoom. We will address the development of the CBH School in the coming years - Where are we going? What do we want to strengthen? We will present this in CBH News in the future and everyone is welcome to provide input and suggestions to the school management.
