Amelie on looking for a new Head of department of Chemistry

As you have hopefully seen in previous CBH News, we are looking for a new head of the Department of Chemistry, as Istvan Furo, who has been head of the department for several years, chooses to step down after this period.

According to KTH's delegation regulations, it is the Head of School who decides to appoint the Head of Department, after consultation with the President. After discussion in the school's faculty board, we have now developed a process where a nomination group has been tasked with interviewing candidates and making proposals to me. The nomination group is led by our Deputy Head of School Mats Jonsson and consists of two teacher representatives from the Faculty Board, two heads of department from other departments at the school, a PhD student representative and a student representative.

We welcome many nominations, and you can either apply yourself or nominate someone else you think is suitable. Both nominations and applications should be sent to Mats Jonsson (matsj@kth.se), no later than 11 October. If you have questions about the assignment or any other thoughts, it is great to talk to Mats directly instead of emailing. Mats is located at Teknikringen 30, floor 7, room 787.
