Amelie about the new Maker Space in Flemingsberg

Monday saw the inauguration of the Department of Biomedical Engineering and Health Systems' new "Maker Space" initiative at Campus Flemingsberg. The Maker Space has access to different types of equipment and students can build prototypes and work independently on projects. Flemingberg's first Maker Space was launched about four years ago, and since the initiative has been very successful, the MTH department has now developed the concept and built a new, expanded version of the Maker Space.

On Monday, I had the privilege of participating in the inauguration of the initiative together with Deputy President Mikael Lindström, who was familiar with the previous Maker Space initiative after his time as head of school at CBH. In connection with the inauguration, we had the opportunity to walk around the premises, where the students demonstrated their ongoing projects. It was great to see how students at different levels worked together to solve problems. It was also nice to have the opportunity to mingle with both students and teachers, and see the commitment from everyone involved. It will be exciting to follow the development in the future!
