Amelie on the development priorities for 2026

Head of School Amelie Eriksson Karlström writes about how work is resuming on the current development issues.
The spring semester has now begun, and students and teachers are back after the Christmas and New Year holidays. Stockholm is experiencing winter weather, but despite snow on the pavements and some traffic problems, most people are still managing to get to KTH. In addition to our usual research and education activities, work is now resuming on the current development issues that I mentioned at the Christmas mingle in December.
- On the education side, work continues developing the range of programmes and access to experimental environments, including maker environments where students can do their own work.
- A KTH-wide working group, led by the Dean of Faculty and the Vice Dean of Faculty, is working on developing new proposals for assessment criteria and qualification requirements for faculty positions, and this week the faculty has been invited to meetings to discuss the issues.
- At the same time, the CBH School is working on a strategic recruitment plan, with proposals for teaching positions that can meet needs in both research and education. The proposals will be discussed at an upcoming full-day meeting with the school's management team and faculty board, so that well-considered priorities can be set.
- Many institutions are also working intensively on writing applications for clusters of excellence and other strategic research initiatives.
It looks like 2026 will be an eventful year for CBH School, and I look forward to working with you – you are the ones who make CBH such a pleasant place to work!
