CBH's former GA Mats Nilsson has passed away

Mats Nilsson, a long-time Director of First and Second Cycle Education and key figure at the School of Chemistry, Biotechnology and Health, CBH, has passed away after a long period of illness.
Mats Nilsson was a key figure in KTH's education programme and a beloved teacher of medical technology. He was one of the first to participate in the establishment of KTH in Flemingsberg. For many years, he was the Programme director for both the Bachelor of Engineering and Master of Science in Medical Engineering programmes.
His colleagues often used to call him ‘Medical Engineering student number 1’, as he was one of the first to specialise in biomedical applications within his studies in Engineering Physics.
Had many roles
Mats Nilsson was a well-known and highly appreciated teacher, colleague and Programme director who over the years held many roles within the education system at KTH.
Between the years 2018 and 2024, Mats Nilsson was responsible for First and Second Cycle Education at the newly formed school CBH. Since 2024, he was elected to the school's new faculty board. With his tireless commitment to making education as good as possible, he participated in countless activities and groups over the years. In addition to these professional roles, he was also active in KTH's "Kårspex".
Shortly before his death, Mats Nilsson had been appointed to a role in Future Education, KTH's joint educational change programme.
